syllabi syllabus whatever

Starting with this coming year, I felt like I needed a very laid-out detailed plan.  So I am making syllabi for each child, complete with the date and the assignments for that day.

So far, this has been hard and LONG.  VERY LONG.  Not to mention extremely tedious.  Even worse when I realized halfway through my 3rd subject input for one kid that I had added in a Saturday in December.  Moving all that info was not fun.

Remembering back to my temping days, I had made a form using Microsoft Office Access to kind of fill in data given to me.  I could then just print out the form.  I was thinking that I could use something like that but in reverse: input into a form all the info, and it puts the data into a spreadsheet or list for me to use.  I mentioned this to my husband who started thinking through some of these ideas and how to implement them.

Of course, life has a funny way of exploding on us when we least expect it, which is what happened.  So here I am back to making syllabi.  The long, hard, painful, tedious process.  At least until hubby and I can figure out how to make it a bit more streamlined.  If I come up with something, I will share it.  For now, I will complete the syllabi and post those instead.

Added later: Oh, and I just discovered that we have off school on Oct. 9th, because I forgot to put assignments in for that day.  Just randomly.  Eh, feels more like school that way anyway.  LOL
